BT Work Ready

Preparing Young People for Digital Futures

Hintergrund

As the UK’s leading provider of telecommunications and digital services, BT is uniquely placed to help young people prepare for an increasingly digital world. Work Ready was created to bridge the gap between education and employment, giving young people the skills, confidence and career insights they need to thrive in technology-enabled futures.

The Approach: Bridging classrooms and digital careers

BT Work Ready was designed to help tackle the growing gap between the skills young people leave education with and those increasingly demanded by employers. Focused on students aged 11–14, the programme combines curriculum-linked learning with real-world employer engagement through virtual bootcamps, in-person workplace experiences and on-demand videos. By connecting students with BT ambassadors and diverse role models, Work Ready helps young people build digital confidence, explore future career pathways and develop the human skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world

The Impact: National reach, measurable outcomes

Between April 2025 and March 2026, Work Ready delivered 46 live events, reaching over 14,500 students from 306 schools across the UK. An external evaluation highlights the programme’s meaningful results: 93% of students reported learning about digital skills and the variety of jobs that require them, while 72% said they were more interested in technology and digital skills as a result of taking part. The programme is helping young people recognise their strengths, grow in confidence and better understand their future career possibilities.

Clear, progressive and applicable. Real environments, real employees... A really informative and inspiring day Thank you.
